Threshold

Threshold

Use the luminance in your footage to define a threshold.

Overview

The Threshold effect is a grayscale effect that converts the luminance values of pixels in an image to black or white based on a specified threshold level.

Controls

  • Threshold: This parameter determines the cutoff point for converting pixels to black or white. Pixels with luminance values below the threshold level are converted to black, while pixels with luminance values above the threshold level are converted to white.

  • Soft: Softens the cutoff point between the luminance levels creating a softer transition between both values.

  • Change Colors: Renders the image in black and white allowing the effects of the threshold effect to be apparent.

  • Change Alpha: Converts black values into alpha.

  • Invert: Inverts black and white values.
