Learn how to set up and navigate the timeline.

The timeline is where you manage layers and control animation.

Setting up the timeline

These settings appear if you click the "time" at the top of your timeline. They also appear in the Inspector if you have no other layers selected.

There are two settings:

  • Frame Rate: Measures how quickly a number of frames appear within a second. Create projects with up to 30 fps (frames per second). View Plans for up to 60 fps.

  • Duration: Determines the overall length of your project up to 30 seconds. View our plans for an unlimited duration.

  • Playhead: Control playback and drop keyframes by moving the orange playhead.

  • Work Area: Drag the grey bar where the playhead sits to set your playback loop and exports.

  • Resize: Adjust the height by hovering along the top, clicking, and dragging.

  • Navigation: Drag the scrubber left/right; two-finger scroll up/down/left/right

  • Zoom: Click the + / - buttons beside the scrubber or use the + / - keyboard commands.

  • Precision Grid System: Responsive display or time units relative to current zoom level.

  • Scrubber: Control the fidelity of the precision grid by dragging the length of the bottom grey bar.

  • Snapping Guides: Ensure elements on the Timeline align precisely, maintaining consistency across different zoom levels.
